〈콤부차 차〉는 자가 재배한 박테리아 셀룰로오스 시트에 대한 공동 재료 연구를 통해 가정 규모의 공동 설계 및 생산 공정을 추구하는 이동 연구소다. 모듈러 직물, 염색, 합성 및 퇴비화 가능한 재료의 제조 방법을 탐구하여 박테리아 셀룰로오스 패치워크를 제작하는 창조의 중심지이자 생산 공간이다. 연구소는 한국 서울, 말레이시아 쿠칭, 독일 베를린의 예술 및 디자인 사회를 여행하며 이동하는 동안 워크샵을 열고, 쉬는 동안 전시를 한다. 〈콤부차 차〉는 가정을 위한 경량의 이동식 연구소다. 우리는 함께 생활 폐기물에서 박테리아 셀룰로오스를 수집 및 처리하고, 생성할 수 있다.
Kombucha-cha is a migrating laboratory for speculating cooperative design and production processes at the domestic scale through collaborative material research on homegrown bacterial cellulose sheets. It is a creative hub and a space of production, creating bacterial cellulose patchworks through an exploration of the fabrication methods of modular fabric, dyeing, and composite and compostable materials. The laboratory facilitates workshops as it moves and exhibits when at rest, travelling between the art and design communities of Seoul (South Korea), Kuching (Malaysia), and finally, Berlin (Germany). Kombucha-cha is a lightweight lab-on-wheels for the home. Together we can collect, process, and create our own bacterial cellulose from domestic waste.
